Country Fair Days

Country Fair days was alot of fun this year. We started out this year by signing up all of the kids in the Baby Contest and Little Miss. AJ and Austin were first and they were so HANDSOME! All they talked about all morning was going on stage (they remeber when Lydia went on stage for her dance recital) They were friendly, charming and made everyone laugh. I don't know how they chose but AJ won King and Austin "Most Awsome Brother"
.

Taylie also was in the Baby Contest. She won "Most Beautiful Brown Eyes" I think she was the most beautiful baby there, when she was being presented to the judges they asked if she was the twins sister. When we said yes they looked at each other like "She is the cutest but their family has already won" Maybe that is just the mom in me but I think she definately should have won.

Lydia was last and enjoyed dancing to "Sugar, Sugar" She looked so beautiful! They gave all the girls sashes that said "Hippie Chic" I think that was the most exciting part for her. She did AMAZING! Lydia also participated in the Little Buckaroo Rodeo. She chased chickens and did stick barrel. She did such a great job! I am so proud of her!

The three oldest also rode on the firetruck during the parade. They had more fun doing that than watching the other parades we have been to this year. Alex got to help with the fireworks like he does every year and the kids enjoyed telling everyone their Daddy lit them off. Overall it was a great week and I can't wait to do it again next year.

Wii and Ramona

We got a wii fit 16 days ago. It has been so much fun! I love that it tracks everything and I can view my progress on a chart and that I can track the kids growth too. Alex and I have had alot of fun competing with each other and the kids can do some of the games too. Lydia loves the obsticle course and is really quite good at it while the boys like hitting the soccer balls and being a penguin and catching fish. Taylie is indifferent. It is so fun and doesn't feel like exercise I can feel a difference in my posture and have lost about 5 lbs. I love that I can exercise any time of day, with or without the kids, and in any attire I feel like. Progress is going great so far and I will keep you posted.

Taylie is starting to sit, she is still not sleeping through the night and ends up in our bed. I just love having her she is such a happy baby and definately mommy's girl. She crys when I leave the room and prefers me over Alex. I have to admit that it makes me happy that she just wants her momma. Alex says he is okay that she prefers me but he sure is trying hard to sway her. It is cute though.

AJ and Austin are boys, dirty, smelly, fun-loving, trouble making little boys. I love them. I remind myself of this often. Like when they "Hiya" there yogart all over my kitchen. And seem to find every mud/water puddle in the back yard. Or when they try and pour there own juice at lunch instead of waiting for me to finish feeding Taylie. They love to smell toes. Not just their toes, but Taylie's and mine as well. They are so imaginative. They make airplanes, firetruck, cement trucks, and trains out of their bedding. They are very loving though and they just make me laugh.

Lydia and I started reading Beezus and Ramona. She loves it! She asks several times a day if we can read it. I am so glad I bought it. I was afraid she was to little and wouldn't understand. I asked her what do you like about this book. She said I am not sure what the point is but it helps me know how I should behave. I told her it was just a fun story and that there didn't always need to be a point that sometimes it was just fun to listen to funny stories. She didn't seem convinced and I started doubting if she was old enough. Then I walked into her room when Alex was putting her to bed to hear her animatedly telling Alex all of the little stories and the excitement in her voice. It made me so happy. I can't wait till I can read it with her and once it is over we will go see the movie just the two of us. I hope she keeps enjoying it and if so I can't wait to read to her all of the other Ramona books. And Fudge, Super Fudge, and ect. I hope she develops a love for reading and that it is something we will always share.

Alex has had a few days off which has been nice after working such long hours the last few weeks. I worked one day last week. It was the first time since having Taylie. It was nice to be back and at the same time I missed my kids so much.

We had new pictures taken this weekend. I will post them soon!

Growing up....

My kids are growing up.... Lydia loves to be a helper and she does it so well. This week she told me "I saw we left my hair stuff out so I am going to take care of it before I go outside." She is so smart. I am so lucky to be her mom. She loves to sing, dance, and make up songs about Jesus. We went shopping today just the two of us it was fun. She said the cutest thing, I asked her if she knew who Joseph Smith was and she said "Yes, He was Jesus father." I tried to explain the diference and that Jesus dad was a differnt Joseph and that Joseph Smith was married to Emma to which she replied "Then what about Mary" We will have to work on that.

The boys are not looking like babies anymore. They are tall and lean. They could play outside for hours mainly "fixing" their toy jeep with their tools or pretending they have firecalls. Alex got a a fire call at our 4th of July BBQ. They were determined go "Go find Daddy, Help with fire" it was hard to distract them. Thanks to Adam and Jeryka and water balloons they kept them fairly entertained till he got back. Alex also took them on their first Daddy/Sons date. They got to ride in Daddy's Jeep and go swimming. They still havent stopped talking about it.

Taylie is starting to try and sit up. She talks, and squeals, and blows raspberries. I swear she said "I love you" tonight. She is 5 months old now and it doesn't seem like that long ago.

Alex as you know from my earlier posts has been working 14 hour days the last two weeks usually starting between 1 and 3 am. He was (and us too!) lucky enough to have a 3 day weekend. Parades, fireworks, games, and carnivals is how we filled our precious time together. I can't wait till we can do it again. I love the summer! We are so blessed!

freaking out

It is 2:30am and here I sit all alone. Every light in the house is on. Two knives at my side, a dog who I never thought would be back in the house at my feet. Alex has gone to work already. I think someone came in the house. I have been sleeping on the couch so the baby does not wake Alex. I woke to find Austin in the livingroom with me and the garage door wide open. I sat him down and went to check on everyone. All here, I must have just left it ajar. I shut and look the door and carry Austin back to bed still feeling very uneasy. I am laying on the couch feeding the baby girl when BAM! The doors are open again. I run to the bedroom to wake up Alex and make him check everywhere. He finds nothing and is not to happy I had to wake him before his Alarm went off. I went back to the bedroom with him but can't get back to sleep. I hear noises in the garage. I get up grab someknives all the while wishing I would have let Alex by a gun. His Alarm goes off a few minutes later. He sees how scared I am and once again checks all the locks. Brings in the dog at my request, says a prayer with me and then is off to work. I wish I could get some sleep. I am so tired but too, scared! So here I sit.

Family Fun.

We took the kids to Surf and Swim on Friday. Alex had the day off and it was so nice to get to spend quality time together as a family. Lydia showed him how she could swim and I taught her how to float on her back. She was terrified but I was able to get her to relax by telling her I was right there and wouldn't let go. After about 5 minutes I let go and she floated by herself she was so excited! She is getting so big! I am so blessed to have her. The Boys loved the waves and are little water babies. Taylie was not a big fan but she got used to it. Alex got very sunburned even though I put sunscreen on him and so he has had a few uncomfortable days. The boys are getting more rambunctious and not listening as well. Somedays I feel like I am at the end of my rope and that I am talking to a brick wall. Alex says I need to be firm but I feel like I am. They really are good kids. Taylie learned to roll over from her back to her tummy on Friday. She is so cute and getting big too fast. I keep thinking I am not ready for you to do that yet! You are still suppose to be little!

Today we took the family to Layton park to feed the ducks and play on the toys. They had so much fun and loved the ducks and ducklings. Adam, Jeryka, and Trinity came with us. It was great! We met up with Mom, Dad, Brad, Kristen, and Shaylee for pizza after. What a great family home evening!

P.S. Toes are for keeping the blood in. Lydia says the cutest things!

Don't Worry Be Happy

Today was not a great day here at the Turner home. Alex had to be to work at 4am. The boys were very busy today....playing on the lap top, behind my chairs, throwing hula hoops at the TV and playing in mud puddles. Lydia was very inquisitive and talked back alot today.

Shocked 1
I was very tired and very frusterated early on. I felt like I was talking to a brick wall. I threatened and yelled and then the boys said "Be happy momma, it okay. Be Happy, we happy" How could you not be happy after hearing that.

I forgot about Joseph and Joshua's Birthday party. Was running to Walmart a half hour before it started to find presents and the kids had cake and icecream for lunch. No naps today either as the party was in the middle of nap time. They had alot of fun though and it was a nice little break from the everyday.

Alex got home at four and we went grocery shopping. $500 later (diapers are so expensive seriously thinking about trying to potty train the boys). Home with a sink full of dirty dishes and a messy playroom I feel so exhausted! Pancakes for dinner and time for baths! Hooray! I tried to teach the boys to say don't worry be happy it is so cute! They are finally in bed and it is my turn to shower, I get out to find the boys under the kitchen sink spraying cleaner everywhere. Alex thought I was in there cleaning. What a day! Back to bed with them and when we checked on them they were curled up in the same bed fast asleep! They look like little angels. "Be happy momma, we happy" Tomorrow is another day, lets be happy!

My Life

6:30 AM Through my sleepy haze I hear the firetrucks...please don't let it wake the boys.
6:31 AM I hear the boys jumping on their bed "Firetrucks! Firetrucks! Gotta fire call gotta go!" Lydia starts crying cause she missed it. I yell hoping not to wake Taylie to go back to bed it is still the middle of the night (in my world) and to go back to sleep. No such luck.

9:00 AM Breakfast. Oh dear we are almost out of milk. Not enough for cereal, Toast it is and will let the kids drink the milk. The boys drink theirs and want more. Lydia my precious girl got down and said "here brothers you can have sissy's milk" I almost cried what a sweet girl.

The kids play outside, I am so thankful for nice, sunny days, and a sandbox, swingset, and trampoline that keep them busy for hours so I can do laundry.

Lunch outside , then naps, hooray daddy is home! And he brought more milk! The boys and their tools fixing everything in sight and having me kiss many boo boos. Lydia being a little mommy, jumping swinging and playing dress up. Today she was the tooth fairy, purple tutu and wings a purse of fake money and a toy french fry as a tooth (what an imagination). She learned to pump this week, had her first dance recital and learned to swim. I am so proud of here but don't know if I am ready for this new stage in indepence. Taylie is rolling and trying to sit, she is such a happy baby with a contagious smile. She is everyones baby (they are all very protective of her). What a perfect day! I am so glad to get to stay home!

Bedtime! Songs and stories and then mommy/daddy time. Everyone is asleep but me, trying to figure out how this blog thing works. I should be in bed now. Oh well!
